Routine bores us as much as it bored the Children of Israel. We are bored from our same old routines, our jobs, our same house, same homework, same university/college--
/workplace, same people around. We always yearn for something "new". Even in our daily gossip, "whats up?" and "whats new?" plays a dominant role. It appears as if the same
old things around us are depressing us so we pray for something new. A miracle. A change. What we fail to see is that the sole reason behind our depression is something else,
most probably lack of Zikr and lack of Daily Qur'anic Reading. We try to fill our depressions with other things and are equally disappointed on the result. What we do not
understand is that our routine, how boring and dull, means that our life is peaceful without ups and downs. Atleast we have a job to support us financially, a house to protect us, a
family to care for us, house-chores to prove that we are not crippled, and we get wounds and we get hurt only to prove that we are alive. Dead people do not get hurt, do they? So
lets learn to thank Allah for all we have. Lets not ask for sabzi tarkari in place of Man'o'Salwa...
